Old Police Station - Deptford X

Just finished this for the Old Police Station Open Studio as part of Deptford X 2009.

25th Sept Til 4th Oct. 12 - 6pm daily. There is gonna be some great stuff happening on the opening night - 25th Sept, 6- 11pm go!!

Not included in the great stuff will be a set by Slushy Guts for which my girlfriend Sophie is gonna do some drumming for me!!! Maybe it will be like Guv'ner or something, although Pumpkin Wentzel played bass so hmmmmm, not really.

Sophie is in Roseanne Barrr, check THEM the fuck out!! She will not be drumming in this style for me though, much softer, a tambourine might be in one of her hands.

SERIPOP BALTIC EXHIBITION / I NEED MONEY!

Hey there, just finished this, my cover for the Baltic Seripop exhibition guide. It is one of 6 covers designed by various people. Seripop are awesome and a constant inspiration so I was very pleased indeed to have been asked to do one.

I will also have posters and the last 20 or so copies of the 'zine available on the merch stall at the exhibition, however I probably won't be able to make it myself............... unless of course a few of you decide to PURCHASE SOME POSTERS HERE SO THAT I CAN AFFORD TO!!!?? How 'bout it?

You should go though, even if I can't, it is going to be a brilliant event. Awesome bands on the Friday and the Saturday too!!

If you live in Wales and you 'get one in your hand' it will be black and white, which is a shame, but we're all on a budget and all that, so it's cool.

Pleased with my work I showed it to my sister and she said, "what the fuck, God doesn't have angel wings!!? And are those supposed to be wires or something?" Its not meant to be like a realistic picture of God, just God and angels are all mushed together in my mind and so I drew 'em as such. The 'wires' aren't really anything, but they kinda look like robes so.....whatever, I'm really pleased with it!

I was standing at the urinal at Bardens boudoir the other week, wondering, as I was weeing, what I would do for this poster. Then Luke from Upset the Rhythm/Hands on Heads walks in and puts his head in the sink and starts gargling water. So I said "Hey Luke, hows it going? What are you doing?" and he said "Hey Steve, cool" and then told me he had just had his wisdom teeth out and that food kept going in the holes!!! And then I told him, "THATS THE POSTER!!!" And so this is the poster. This is Luke. Its an ok poster. Its gonna be a brilliant show!

I have had some posters included in a book just out, 'FLY BY NIGHT - THE NEW ART OF THE CLUB FLYER' published by Thames and Hudson. Its pretty nice, lots of good stuff which makes my stuff look bad!! But I have 4 or 5 posters in there, mostly old ones from black and white times, but I'm pleased.

£12.99 from all Waterstones, Foyles, as well as Amazon and futuristic places like that, but you should order it from your local bookshop and give it to someone who cares as a present!

Just to let you (assuming you, or anyone else, is reading this) know what I have been up to, I have been 'well busy' and have some drawings and posters included in two exhibitions, see below, AND have a bunch of posters included in a book - 'Mine, Night Time, My Visual Diary of the New Art of the Club Flyer.' The book is published by Thames and Hudson and is due in September, the posters are oldish one as this has been on the cards for a good while and I haven't really told many people, but I am thrilled.

DO AN INTRO!

Uhhhhh.........so......... here I am, here, on my new 'Blog.' Not that there was an old 'Blog.' This is the first. I don't really know what I am doing here, but its easier then making a website, something I can't do, or afford to pay someone to do, and people seem to think that it is more respectable then a myspace page or something...........and of course it is much more classy then a facebook group, both of which I have and am deeply ashamed of. I feel quite ashamed to be on here writing this also though so I guess the Internet is just shameful wherever you go.

CHAOS VS COSMOS is the name I do all my art under and also the name I use to promote shows (as in gigs) in London. My real name is Steve/StePHen vs Cosmos, depending on who you are. Its double barrel, I have no middle name.

I will be using this space here mainly to stick up my artwork, illustration, drawings, stuff. I will try my best not to write about my incredibly cool life on here, I will try to keep it PRO. My friend Will told me recently that I just do not censor myself enough, I say whatever comes into my head. FUCK YOU WILL.
